WHAT DO WE AIM TO ACHIEVE?
Football as a tool to foster a culture of environmental sustainability
FUTURE primarily aims to use football as a social tool to foster a culture of environmental sustainability among children aged 6-11 years, increasing their awareness and social norms but also fostering an active approach to sustainability.
A further related goal is to instigate cultural change and sustainable environmental behaviours among caregivers and the EU population. In so doing, FUTURE identifies bottom-up and top-down approaches to impact on children, also making large use of communication and role models and focusing on the role of coaches as educators.

Free online training courses and guidelines
Our competent partnership allows to create a scientifically-based methodology to foster environmental sustainability and spread it locally, nationally and internationally (also through a free online training course and guidelines).
We will train coaches to provide children with self-efficacy and skills to understand how their action impact the environment, and how to make their own sustainability plans; we aim to involve other sports as well as schools, and to make caregivers feel responsible for children’s education about environmental sustainability.

Communication and dissemination campaign
FUTURE heavily relies on communication and dissemination, with a communication campaign with role models and national and international events largely resting on the powerful media channels of National Football Federations.
FUTURE aims to bring environmental sustainability outside the football field, using football to create awareness and sustainable behaviours among children and the EU population more generally.
