EXCEPTIONAL MULTIPLIER EVENT – ITALY, 13th MAY 2025
On Tuesday, 13th May 2025, within the framework of the FUTURE Project, the primary schools Istituto Comprensivo Carpi Zona Centro and Giovanni Pascoli, the social cooperative Domus Assistenza, and the care home for the elderly CRA Il Carpine organized the event titled “Il valore delle nostre Radici” (The Value of Our Roots), in collaboration with UNIMORE (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia).
The event was aimed at children from the schools in the province of Carpi (Modena, Italy) and had a dual purpose. First, it sought to celebrate Earth Day, emphasizing the importance of raising environmental awareness among younger generations. Secondly, it aimed to strengthen intergenerational bonds by recognizing the value of the elderly as vital members of our community who can actively contribute by sharing their experiences and wisdom.
The event featured an institutional presentation, the presentation of a scientific study on the role of intergroup contact between young and elderly people, and a series of creative activities carried out jointly by children and elderly people to honor Earth Day. These included poetry writing, dancing, and singing, all designed to promote mutual understanding, respect, and shared environmental values. Overall, the event involved 2 representatives of the municipality of Carpi; 34 adults, including school teachers, workers of the CRA Il Carpine, general population; 10 elderly residents of the CRA Il Carpine; 6 primary school classes, for a total of 124 children.






Meeting with Atlético de Madrid’s Sustainability Department
On January 21, 2025, the FUTURE partnership visited Atlético de Madrid’s headquarters at the Estadio Metropolitano. During this visit, Rocío Torres, the club’s Head of Sustainability & Responsible Business, presented Atlético de Madrid’s vision and sustainability strategy, outlining the initiatives the club is implementing to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040. Project partners the participated in a Q&A session and provided an overview of the FUTURE project, including its methodology and activities designed to educate children about sustainability through football, also discussing eventual points for collaboration.
